To mark World Cancer Day 2024 I attended a Cancer Research UK event in Parliament reaffirming the importance of cancer care within the Government’s NHS strategy.
Last year I was the MP sponsor for this annual Cancer Research UK event and I am always happy to support the excellent work of this charity, the world’s largest cancer research institution, which helps improve treatments and works to find a cure for cancer.

Most families will know a loved one impacted by cancer and I will continue lobbying to improve the provision of cancer care.
Regular readers of my updates will recall my lobbying for the “Da Vinci X” surgical robot for cancer treatment at Northampton General Hospital. I am pleased that reducing waiting times for cancer treatments and improving rates of early diagnosis is a key target of the Government’s £8 billion investment increase into the NHS and the creation of community diagnosis centres to try to detect cancer in patients as early as possible.
