At one of my recent advice surgeries in Northampton Professor Sheena Bell from the University of Northampton came to see me to discuss the SENEL project.
SENEL, which stands for Special Education Needs Employment Links, is an international project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union which aims to improve the employability of people with special educational needs and disabilities.
SENEL’s UK sponsor is the University of Northampton and Professor Sheena Bell has been at the forefront of promoting this project in the UK. The project aims to produce and evaluate tools to support students with special educational needs and disabilities as they move into employment.
This is a cause and a project that I support and readers may recall that I sponsored a ‘Disability Confident’ event at the Guildhall a few months ago. For this project with Professor Sheena Bell I have written a foreword for the project’s mini-guide, produced a short video clip talking about the project to be shown on their website and at one of their future events, and have helped with local industry introductions.
